Bring an expertise to the projects in biodiversity management by following a structured approach consisting of a baseline assessment, setting SMART goals along with the producers, selection & implementation of the selected (together) measures and establishing a monitoring mechanism. Co-creating a dynamic conversion plan (four fold and seven life processes), as part of an emerging future of advising.
My advisory methodology is based on the concept of coaching/accompanying the members of the project’s team to be advisors & trainers themselves to empower them to manage the project on Biodynamic Principals & Practices with the goal of the project becoming a self-sufficient farm organisation. This approach starts with a viability study on the market of the produce and an attempt to build a mutually beneficial relationship based on Associative Economics principle with prospective purchasers/markets of the produce locally & internationally, at the start of the project itself.
Several projects & initiatives in Asia, to name a few - China Demeter Association's Demeter advisor for multiple projects in conversion for herbs for traditional chinese medicine, millets, rice, beans & vegetables. Successfully advised the first Demeter certified project for production & processing in the ASEAN region (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) for a coconut farm (350 ha) & another vegetable farm (12 ha) in Thailand, multiple projects in North Eastern Thailand for Demeter jasmine rice in conversion on 2240 ha with around 500 farmers, project on the first organic cotton project in Tamil Nadu, in conversion to Demeter. Another project is as the official advisor for an organic municipality in Philippines having 7814 hectares of Agriculture land with 1437 farmers planning to convert to biodynamic practices & principles in the entire municipality. Am also advising the Ministry of Agriculture & Forests of Bhutan on their plans to get equivalency for their national organic standard, upgrade their local PGS program & set up their accreditation systems.
